Avix Aero is an aerospace technology company producing the only commercially available onboard weight and balance validation system -  Strut Data Collection System (SDCS) – which automatically calculates an aircraft’s weight and center of gravity for each flight.

Leadership

Bill Tiffany

Bill Tiffany is the chief executive officer of Avix Aero responsible for broadening and accelerating the industry’s adoption of Avix’s Strut Data Collection System (SDCS).

Bill brings over 20 years of commercial aviation leadership experience to this role. Previously, he was the chief revenue officer for MRO Holdings (MROH), where he led all commercial, sales and marketing, strategy and business development, and supply chain functions. 

Building on his industry knowledge and commercial aviation experience, Bill also served as the Vice President of Supply Chain Management at Southwest Airlines. He was previously a Partner in Oliver Wyman Group’s Aviation & Aerospace consultancy and investment bank. Bill has also held positions at Scient Corporation and Deutsche Bank AG.

Bill holds a bachelor’s degree in international comparative studies with a certificate in market and management studies from Duke University, and a master’s degree in business administration from Southern Methodist University.

Bill Sheilds

Head of Engineering

Bill Sheilds is the head of engineering at Avix Aero, responsible for leading the design, certification, and deployment planning processes. 

Bill brings substantial experience in system and certification engineering, program development and operations management, and has maintained a strong focus on customer service. 

A well-known aerospace industry veteran, Bill founded 3S Certification / 3S Engineering, an independent FAA approved STC Organization Designation Authorization (ODA). He also holds FAA delegated authority in the areas of Electrical Systems and Certification Management as a Designated Engineering Representative (DER).

Sai Kalegowda

CIO

Saikiran Kalegowda (“Sai”) is the chief information officer of Avix Aero. He is responsible for leading Avix’s technology strategy, overseeing technology operations, including architecture, infrastructure, applications, data strategy, and cybersecurity measures, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. 

With nearly 20 years of experience, Sai has a proven track record of successfully driving large-scale information technology (IT) initiatives and leadership at global companies within the aviation industry. 

Kalegowda joins Avix from iAero Airways, the largest B2B charter airlines in the Americas, where he served as the head of information technology and led the information technology strategy during restructuring and business transformation. Before iAero, he was the global head of information technology at MRO Holdings. He was responsible for creating and executing IT strategies along with providing consultation support for company leadership on business strategies.

Sai has a bachelor’s degree in information science from VTU and a master’s degree in computer and information systems from University of South Alabama.

Kirk Nance

Kirk Nance is the founder and senior technical fellow of Avix Aero. He is the inventor of Avix’s inaugural product, the Strut Data Collection System. With nearly 30 years in aviation, his designs and inventions for aerospace systems used in monitoring and measurement of aircraft loads, provide solutions to allow fundamental changes in airline operations. 

He is a co-founder of CAVOK Group, an aviation technical services company later acquired by Oliver Wyman Group. He previously was the principal at Trinity AirWeighs, and regular contributor to industry groups related to aircraft structures and engineering. 

Kirk has an extensive patents and patents pending portfolio featuring more than 30 new technology designs focused on expedited gate departures, reduction of aerodynamic drag and related reduced fuel consumption, monitoring tools to reduce landing gear inspection and maintenance costs.
