Avix Aero is an aerospace company producing game-changing commercial aircraft technologies and solutions. Avix brings a unique combination of technical innovation, engineering and certification expertise, and commercial airline experience that creates pragmatic solutions that improve safety and airline operational efficiency.
Avix holds 12 design, process and method patents (with 15 pending or drafted) dominantly related to landing gear systems and proprietary weight & balance calculations and methods, including revolutionary ways to validate weight, balance and center of gravity without having to calculate aircraft weight.
Our engineering and certification expertise is represented by in house Designated Engineering Representatives and Certification Management. We work with a variety of other experienced DERs from various disciplines to bring our products through the certification process.
Through Aero Source Data, our partnership with Satcom Direct, Avix solutions are enabled by a high-availability, global infrastructure that ensures that they are accessible continuously by our customers.

Kirk is the inventor of Avix’s inaugural product, the Strut Data Collection System. With more than 27 years in aviation related activities, his designs and inventions for aerospace systems used in monitoring and measurement of aircraft loads, provide solutions to allow fundamental changes in airline operations. He is a co-founder of CAVOK Group, an aviation technical services company later acquired by Oliver Wyman Group, principal at Trinity AirWeighs, and regular contributor to industry groups related to aircraft structures and engineering. Kirk’s patents and patents pending portfolio includes more than 30 new technology designs which offer products to promote expedited gate departures, reduction of aerodynamic drag and related reduced fuel consumption, monitoring tools to reduce landing gear inspection and maintenance costs; many of which form the basis of key Avix products and solutions.
As Avix’s Chief Engineer, Bill is responsible for leading the design, certification and deployment planning processes for Avix’s products. Bill is an industry veteran of several highly respected avionics and aircraft OEMs, with a background in customer service, system and certification engineering as well as marketing, program development and operations management. Our inaugural product, the Strut Data Collection System (SDCS), is a leading-edge onboard aircraft weight and balance measurement system that collects landing gear strut pressures from each gear position. Through our Aero Source Data offerings, this data is communicated to a secure off-site data center managed by Satcom Direct where proprietary Avix algorithms provide pre-departure validation of primary load buildup methods, load manifest accuracy, touchdown load analysis, and proprietary data analytics across all flight segments.
These real-time monitoring and validation programs safeguard against human error, provide a tool to increase fuel efficiency, improve reliability, OTP and turn times while also enabling operators to reclaim weight and balance curtailments. We hold the Supplemental Type Certificate for the SDCS on the Boeing 737NG family of aircraft, with additional STCs under development.
